The Visual View's Top Toolbar holds various controls that effect what is shown on the Visual view.

FIT TO PLAN BUTTON

The Fit Plan button (or its keyboard shortcut of the Home-key) will zoom the view to the full extents of the current project.

VIEW LAYER

While usually very similar, Hero considers floors & ceilings as completely separate objects within the model. This allows floor or ceilings to be split individually without complicating the opposing floor or ceiling. This becomes particularly important to reduce unnecessary splits when conducting multiple level projects, with automatic adjacency splits.

The View Layer on the Visual Top Toolbar controls whether the Floors or the Ceilings of a project, will be selected & manipulated by mouse clicks. The current view layer can be toggled using these buttons, or via the keyboard shortcut "V".

LEVELS

Levels act as reference layers to organise objects according to their story or level within the building. Levels are organised primarily through the Visual Top Toolbar's Level organizer.

The current level of the project is shown in the Combo-Box, along with it's Height above Ground. The adjacent levels above & below will also be shown in the visual view as faded objects. The current level can be toggled by either the up & down spinner buttons, or via the drop-down menu of the combobox. Alternatively keyboard shortcuts Page Up & Page Down perform similar functions.

New levels can be created by the Add Level button next to the combobox and will be added as the top floor of a project.

Levels can be edited within the Level Organizer's Drop-down view. Within this view, you change the name of Levels within the textfields, or adjust the height above ground of each level.

You can also use the Organizer to move levels up & down either using the Up/Down buttons, or by drag & dropping the level directly into its desired position. The level heights will adjust accordingly.

Levels can be deleted by the Delete button on the row of the level, and will delete all objects within that level.

DWELLINGS

Additional Dwellings for multi-dwelling residential projects can be added in the Dwellings section of the Visual Top Toolbar. To add a new dwelling, click the Add button next to the Dwelling Combobox. The Current Selected Dwelling of the project will be shown within the combobox and can changed via the drop-down. All new zones created in the Visual View will be zones of the current selected dwelling (however they the parent dwelling can be changed in the data-grid at a later stage). Dwellings and all their child objects can also be deleted with the Delete Dwelling button located next to the Add button.

PROJECT NORTH

The Project North arrow in the Visual Top Toolbar shows the current orientation of the visual view and all its contained objects. If the imported plans have North in a different direction, this can be set via entering the correct orientation, or by dragging the north arrow, or by double-clicking the arrow which will enter Set Project Orientation drawing mode.

Set Project Orientation can also be entered by clicking the Orientation button on the left toolbar or using the keyboard shortcut 'O'

Once in Set Project Orientation drawing mode, you can draw a line that represents the North arrow, such as tracing over the north arrow direction on the plans.
